The Digital Media Centre in Barnsley has been home to BurstingBox for over 10 years. In that time, it has become much more than simply somewhere we come to work. It's our base, somewhere we meet clients, collaborate with other local businesses and continue to grow our agency.
Located on County Way, the DMC forms part of Barnsley's wider Seam Digital Campus and provides office and meeting space for businesses within the digital, technology and creative sectors.
For us, though, it's simply home.

One of the biggest benefits of being based at the DMC has been the flexibility to grow without having to find a new home.
As BurstingBox has grown and our needs have changed, we've moved between several different offices within the building. The DMC has made it easy for us to move into larger spaces when we've needed more room, without the disruption of relocating somewhere completely new.
It has meant that moving office has never felt like starting again. We've been able to stay in the same familiar location, keep the same address for clients and continue working alongside the businesses and people we've built relationships with over the years.
For us, that ability to grow within the DMC has been one of the biggest reasons it has remained such a good fit for BurstingBox.
Although much of our day-to-day communication can now happen over email, phone or video call, we still really value meeting clients in person.
This is particularly true when we're starting a new website project. Sitting down together for a website discovery session allows us to properly understand the business, ask questions and discuss what the website needs to achieve.
We also love presenting our bespoke website concepts in person. This lets us explain the thinking behind the design, show how we've considered the user experience, and talk through how different elements will benefit both the client and their customers.
The DMC gives us a welcoming and professional place to do that.
Client meetings at our office are by appointment, so we can make sure we're available and have everything ready for your visit.

Our office gives our team a dedicated space to design, develop and manage the websites and marketing campaigns we work on every day.
But clients don't have to spend their entire visit sitting in our office. The Digital Media Centre has shared areas and meeting facilities throughout the building, which makes it easy to find the right environment for a conversation. The DMC specifically provides office, meeting and collaborative spaces for businesses operating within Barnsley's digital community.
Showing potential clients where we work is also important to us. We aren't simply a name at the bottom of a website or an agency operating entirely remotely. We're a local business with a permanent home in Barnsley where clients can come and meet the people they'll actually be working with.

Another advantage of being based at the DMC is having talented businesses right on our doorstep.
We regularly collaborate with our neighbours at awesome. | Full Service Creative Agency, who help us when a project requires professional photography or video production.
Photography and video are among the creative services they provide from their base at the DMC.
Our relationship goes back much further than sharing the same building. I grew up and went to school with their director, so we have a longstanding relationship and a level of trust that makes collaborating on projects incredibly easy.
For our clients, it means that when a website needs high-quality photography or video, we have people we know and trust just down the corridor rather than having to bring in somebody we've never worked with before.
It's a good example of one of the things we enjoy most about being at the DMC. Businesses in the building have a genuine opportunity to work together, rather than simply occupying offices next to one another.

Client meetings are always easier with a decent coffee.
We're fortunate to have the Ground Hand Pulled Coffee Cart in reception, and Will is usually our first stop when somebody comes in to see us.
Ground Hand Pulled Coffee has been part of the DMC environment for years, and the coffee bar has become a familiar fixture for people working in and visiting the building.
So if you're coming to BurstingBox for a meeting, there's a good chance we'll be grabbing you a coffee from the cart on the way upstairs.
It's a small detail, but it's part of what makes inviting clients to the DMC feel a little less like a formal office meeting and a little more relaxed and welcoming.

We work with businesses throughout Yorkshire and further afield, but we're proud to be a Barnsley agency.
Having a permanent base at the Digital Media Centre means we're well placed to work with businesses locally while still delivering projects for organisations much further afield.
Barnsley has also continued to invest in its digital economy. The DMC buildings now sit within The Seam Digital Campus, which the council describes as a hub intended to support digital innovation, collaboration and business growth within Barnsley and South Yorkshire.
Being part of that environment feels particularly appropriate for a business like ours that works across website design, development, branding and digital marketing.
Whether you're considering a new website, want to improve your existing one or want to talk through an idea, we're always happy to have a conversation.
You can meet us at your premises, arrange a video call or come and see us at our office at the Digital Media Centre in Barnsley.
Meetings at the DMC are by appointment, which gives us time to understand what you're looking to achieve properly.
And we'll make sure the coffee is sorted.
