Our website migration explained in under a minute
Website migration is the process of moving your existing website from one hosting provider to another.
We take all the stress out of moving your website by communicating with your current provider to organise everything we need for a smooth transition.

Most customers migrate their website to us from either a poor service provider or one that is no longer in business. No matter the reason, we're happy to have you!
Once migrated, customers will see an increase in communication, attentiveness and overall better hosting for their long-neglected website.
Migration is the first step in working with BurstingBox; the next step is hosting your website. For more information about this service, please visit our dedicated hosting page.
Migrating a website can be a challenging and time-consuming process. Here is the process we will go through together to transfer your website to us:
Request stage
After receiving your instruction, we submit a request to your current hosting provider.
Set up stage
We'll get everything set up at our end in preparation for the site being transferred.
Switch stage
Once we have everything needed and are ready, we'll make the switch over to us.
Checking stage
Once live on our services, we'll carry out our post-migration checklist to make sure everything is as it should be.
Most website migrations are completed within around two weeks, including the transfer of your domain name. However, the timeline can vary. The longest stage is often the initial request stage, where we rely on your current provider's response time to supply the necessary website files and access.
In most cases, no. Your existing website remains live while we prepare a copy on our servers. Once everything is ready, we switch the site to load from our servers instead of your previous provider, resulting in little to no downtime.
We don't support all platforms because they're in languages we don't specialise in or because they are part of a fully hosted solution, such as Shopify, which provides the hosting.
The best thing to do is to ask; we can advise if we can provide hosting for your website with a few quick checks.
Yes. As part of our set up stage, we will ensure that all pages and functionality of your existing website work as they should.
Let's have a phone call, video call or a face-to-face at our offices in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
